The Sensemaking meetup is Systems Change Finland’s monthly meetup where we explore topics related to applied Systems Thinking and Complexity with interesting speakers. Instead of being one-sided lectures, our meetups are spaces where participants can also make sense about the topics with each other.
In June’s meet-up on Wednesday 7.6.2023 at 17.00-18.30 EEST UTC+3 the discussion will be ignited by Adriana Santamaria and Elisa Ford from Sonder Collective (https://www.sonderdesign.org/) who will share their learnings and unlearning from designing and co-hosting a space to Reimagine Peacebuilding. A space for local peace builders and activists to come together to explore alternative futures, take action to challenge power, and provide each other with solidarity.
The event is hosted by Zeynep Falay von Flittner and it is a co-organised by Systems Change Finland and Design Activists for Regenerative Futures.
Speakers
Adriana Santamaría P.
Adriana is a designer, entrepreneur, and educator focused on social impact. The social change she explores is deeply rooted in her Colombian identity and grounded in peacebuilding.
As a designer, she takes a decolonial approach to her practice focusing on designing and facilitating participatory processes that embrace the knowledge of those with lived experience and allows them to better connect to their agency and power.
Elise Ford
Elise is a nomad and explorer. Through her journey in seeking to understand better and support social change, Elise has accumulated almost 20 years’ experience in senior positions across politics, international development and philanthropy.
Currently she serves as a co-host for a collective of activists that aims to re-imagine, co-create and co-lead spaces and action for a just, equitable and dignified peace. Having worked with the community for the last three years, she’s been inspired by deeper, more proximate approaches to supporting social change, and the opportunity this holds for creating new ways of being and doing together.
